Welcome to the official website for Mary Craig's book, Voices From Silence.

Mary Craig is a distinguished writer, journalist and broadcaster. Many of her books share a common theme of the examination of spirituality in the post war world. These include a biography of Pope John Paul the Second and an examination of the Solidarity movement in Poland. Her account of life in contemporary Tibet, and biographies of the Dalai Lama and his family have been widely praised.

But she is probably best known for "Blessings", the first volume of her memoirs which was published in 1978 to international acclaim. In it she described her own painful spiritual journey towards understanding and acceptance following the birth of two severely handicapped sons. A second volume, "The Last Freedom", followed in 1997.

"Voices From Silence", an examination of the ideas which have created Facilitated Communication, a revolutionary method helping the handicapped to communicate, completes the trilogy.
